Who we are.
Thea Pagel brings a unique perspective to event marketing and brand building. She has hands on experience in both creating and developing iconic brands. Thea was on the opening team of the House of Blues New Orleans, where she built the convention event model for the company and was on the executive team that conceptualized the Foundation Room in New Orleans. Her experience includes 2 years in NYC at the NYSE where she managed a team of 20; responsibilities included the opening and closing bell ceremonies, IPO celebrations, product launches and replacing legacy systems. Thea’s early experiences at the Ritz Carlton, managing the Upperline Restaurant, and as Vice President of Joel Catering and Events, adds polish and finesse to her broader brand strategy and management experience. Her specialty is creativity and delivering on projects from concept through execution.
Karen Wang brings her own diverse range of experiences and skill sets to Thea Pagel Productions. Focusing on the production of our projects, Karen is responsible for the precision of our events and adds additional layers of creativity. As a graduate of Tulane School of Architecture, she is very well versed in space planning and design programs. Her prior experience in fashion and styling also adds to our aesthetic. Additionally she has extensive restaurant experience, both in the front of the house, as well as conceptualizing, co-owning and operating TSAI, the first vegetarian pop up restaurant in New Orleans. Karen’s international background and extensive travels, gives her a broad and original perspective, which is incorporated into the business.
Dan Akerley, a new member to the team, brings a young and creative voice to Thea Pagel Productions. Having recently graduated from the Tulane School of Architecture Master's program, he has a great eye for digital design and is skilled in the world of digital fabrication. His diverse background includes architecture, animation, videography, fashion, photography, furniture fabrication, and many years of service industry work. His skills in organization, planning, and design help contribute to the success of each event he works on.
